Lauren and Arron came to book us as we photographed her aunty and uncles wedding the previous year at The Crown Hotel in Bawtry Doncaster.
When we arrived Lauren was very calm and had her maid of honour taking fantastic care of all the details. We were able to photograph all the important and stunning details in the bridal suite. The bridal suite was quite a dark room but was filled with character with the four-poster wooden carved bed and ornate windows. This room was a beautiful backdrop for most of the bridal prep images.
Laurens hair and make up was done and all the bridesmaids complete and ready to put on dresses, very organised and well prepared ladies.
At point of groom arrival myself and Jo split and I left bridal prep to meet the grooms men and capture them all before the ceremony. The groom was a little nervous, but had lots of support in his family and friends. We love the images Jo captured of the ladies having a sneaky look at the guys arriving.
The ceremony room was filled with love and laughter of family and friends, people greeting each other and the groom preparing himself. Arron and his mum had a special moment and this always gets me a little emotional, I always imagine it will be my son and me one day.
The weather for the day was magnificent for a February, the sun was shining and it was lovely and warm, the perfect day. From a photographers point of view the sun was sometimes too bright; believe it or not and was a struggle at time to work with. We always have guests saying “this is your dream weather as a photographer” but we do actually love a little cloud coverage to soften the light.
We did get some amazing couple shots using the sun and the stunning grounds at Whitley Hall. The light makes these images really strong and the effect is just stunning.
The wedding cake!! Was ‘Krispy Kreme’ Donuts this was a first for me personally; and who doesn’t love a donut? I have seen donut walls at weddings but this was a fantastic and unique idea for the wedding cake.
We loved working with Lauren and Arron, they were so relaxed and it was a beautiful day with so many lovely people. Here’s a huge congratulations to you both again.
